Distance Training Workshop (All endurance paddlers) August 24th 2013
Rob Mirlenbrink will be holding a free distance training workshop at the Dunedin Community Center August 24th from 12 to 1:30pm. The Dunedin Community Center is located at 1920 Pinehurst Road, Dunedin, FL 34698.
Whether you are a beginner or like me have raced many times throughout the state, this class will enhance your ability to paddle the distance. Rob has endurance raced all types of craft from Surfski to Outrigger to SUP and much more...

We've been getting a lot of questions from people who are going the distance for the first time this season, so we've decided to offer this FREE event for you!
Join Rob Mirlenbrink, our distance expert, for this informative session about how to prepare your body for a distance paddling event. The workshop will cover topics like: *exercise physiology (the way the body functions) in a distance event
*training concepts and planning
*sports nutrition concepts
*mental preparation
*tips and tricks of the trade
Rob is a specialist in distance paddling, with a resume that includes:
*B.S. in Exercise Science from USF
*3-time record holder in the Water Tribe Ultra Marathon (70-miles)
*Competed in the Molokai Hoe (41 miles) and Bimini Hoe (50 miles) Outrigger Races
*Competed in and helped organize many other middle to long distance events
*WPA Region 5 Director
We are lucky to have Rob to share with us his knowledge, passion and experience in long distance paddling. If you are planning to challenge yourself in a distance event or are thinking about doing an event, this workshop is a must!

This class will be held live and free for you at the Dunedin Community Center. Once you enter, follow the signs to where the room is.

I'm a newbie kayaker and just purchased an Epic v10 sport a week ago. I've been into endurance racing for years (cycling and running) and I'm looking to expand my interests with long distance water events. I'm looking forward to this event.
