Mocke Racing PFD
The Mocke vest preferred by racers has been off the market for two years in R & D trying to make it even better. The new ISO approved vest will be available in the US starting the beginning of February. Ocean paddle Sports in California has 300 of them coming in. They are taking reservations now by phone or email. I called and reserved mine. Why a racing vest? Kayakers need a very specific vest for comfort & safety. This vest is light weight, well ventilated vest, has pockets for energy bars in front, pocket for a water bladder in back, bright orange rescue color and reflective tape, only mesh vest on the market... finally due to the mesh, the vest does not become heavy aiding in wet reentry into a kayak or surfski at sea. April 3rd 2013, I have been using mine for a little over a month now and I have never been a fan of the uncomfortable, extremely hot life vests designed for kayakers. This vest is so comfortable, I forget I have it on. It's definitely everything I anticipated and more.

I just received mine and am very happy with the quality. They seems to have thought of everything. The front has one large pocket that easily accomodates a smart phone in waterproof dive pouch plus a snack bar. The back pouch accomodates my 50 OZ/1.5L camelback water pouch. There are two reflective straps on each side that you can attach to and one in front above the front pocket. The padding seems more than adequate to keep you afloat and the net cloth will quickly drain water and dry. Both sides are elasticisized and has two side straps. The vest is very high on the back and open on both sides for breathing. It seems like the very best of the best for offshore paddling.
Two friends of mine got caught in a microcell and was separated from their tandem ski boat. If you are in an emergency situation and must swim in like they did, you will be glad to have whistle, compass, cell phone and water bladder. This vest could definitely save your life.
